<text>Pathogens often cause disease in plants, causing losses both in quality and quantity, and frequently can cause death on plants cultivated. Biological control begin to be selected in control of pathogens. Antagonist agent Trichoderma is known to control fungal pathogens causing plant diseases. This study looked over inhibition effects of Trichoderma sp. against pathogenic fungi; C. capsici, Fusarium sp. and S. rolfsii. This research was conducted at Laboratory of Plant Pathology Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University from April to August 2012. The study began with isolation of the pathogen obtained from chili and soybean crops infected in the field.. Pathogenic fungi isolated were Colletotrichum capsici, Fusarium sp. and Sclerotium rolfsii. Variables observed were wide and diameter colony of Trichoderma sp., diameter colony of pathogens, and the percentage of inhibition. The results showed that Trichoderma sp., had ability to inhibit the growth of pathogen Colletotrichum capsici, Fusarium sp. and Sclerotium rolfsii  in vitro. The highest percentage of inhibition of Trichoderma sp. was 68,2% against Colletotrichum capsici, followed by 53,9% against Fusarium sp., and the lowest inhibition was against Sclerotium rolfsii (35.5%).</text>

<text>ABSTRACT The research was aimed at determining suitable varieties and concentrations of compound fertilizer RapidGro 01 on growth and yield of cauliflower. Experiment was arranged in a randomized complete block design (RCBD) 3x3 with 3 replications. There were two factors studied, i.e. 1) varieties consisted of 3 levels (PM 126 F1, White Shot and Cauliflower Tropica 45 Days) and 2) concentration of compound fertilizer RapidGro 01 consisted of 3 levels (2, 4, and 6 gL-1of water). Results showed that varieties significantly affected plant height at 30 days after planting, leaf numbers at 45 days after transplanting (DAT) and wet weight of flowers per plant, but did not significantly affect plant height at 15 and 45 DAT, leaf numbers at 15 and 30 DAT, root length and wet weight. The best variety was AM 126 F1. Concentrations of compound fertilizer RapidGro 01 did not significantly affect plant height and leaf numbers at 15, 30, and 45 DAT, root length, fresh weight per plant and wet weight per plant. There was no significant interaction between varieties and concentrations of compound fertilizer RapidaGro 01 on all variables of growth and yield of cauliflower.</text>

<text>The objectives of this research were to study physiological and chlorophyll changes during seed ripening and find quick parameters as indicators to determine seed physiological maturity level. A randomized completely block design with 5 treatments and 3 replications was used in this research. The treatments were (1) dark green fruit, 42 days after anthesis (DAA), (2) yellowish green fruit, 47 DAA, (3) fully green fruit, 52 DAA, (4) brownish yellow fruit, 57 DAA, and (5) dark brown fruit, 62 DAA. The results showed that jathropa seed was physiologically mature at 57 DAA with criteria: fruit color was brownish yellow, fruit skin was soft and easily hand-opened, and seed was black. These were also supported by seed dry weight, germination percentage, germination rate and first count germination. There were negative relationships between seed chlorophyll content and germination percentage, germination rate and first count germination. </text>

<text>The Aplication of PaddyHusks As An Alternative  Medium and  Test of Efectivity Of Foliar Fertilizer on Growth and Yield of Tomato In Hydroponics ABSTRACT             A research of using various media and fertilizers on tomato planted hydroponically has been conducted in the green house of Agriculture faculty, Syiah Kuala University, Banda Aceh, starting from July to November 2002. The objective of research was to observe the influence of various media and fertilizer, as well as the interaction of each other to the growth and yield of tomato planted hydroponically. The treatment composed of two factors, namely various media (paddy’s husks / kuntan, sands, and mixture of  kuntan and sands) and fertilizers (Vitamon, Bayfolan, Complesal and Hoagland solution). The research was assigned in completely randomized design in a factorial manner, consisting three replications. The results showed that the best growth and highest yield of the tomato were found in the mixture medium (kuntan + sands). These results were significantly different from those of the single medium. The use of Hoagland solution resulted on the best growth and highest yield of tomato which were not significantly different from those of Bayfolan and Complesal Fertilizer. It is observed that there were no significant interactions between the two factors tested.  </text>

<text>            The research was aimed at determining effects of organic fertilizer D.I Grow and inorganic fertilizer  NPK Yara Mila on growth and yield of soybean.  The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized (CRD) 4 x 4 with 3 replications. There were two factors observed, that were 1) concentration of organic fertilizer D.I Grow, consisting of 4 levels : 0 mL/L of water, 1 mL/L of water, 3 mL/L of water and 5 mL/L of water, and 2) inorganic fertilizer NPK, consisting of 4 levels : 0 g/plant, 2,5 g/plant, 5,0 g/plant and 7,5 g/plant. Results showed that the concentration of fertilizer D.I Grow exerted highly significant effects on dry seed weight per plant,  yield potential,  and significant effects on plant height at 30 and 45 days after planting (DAP),  stem diameter at 45 DAP, and seed dry weight of 100 grains,  but did not exert significant effects on plant height at 15 DAP and stem diameter at 15 and 30 DAP. The best growth and yield were obtained at a concentration of DI Grow 5 mL /L of water. NPK fertilizer significantly affected plant height  at 45 DAP, stem diameter at 30 and 45 DAP, dry seed weight per plant,  and yield potential, but  did not significantly  affect plant height of 15 and 30 DAP,  stem diameter at 15 DAP,  weight of 100 grain   and seed dry weight of 100 grains. The best growth and yield were obtained at a dose of 7.5 g NPK/plant. There were highly significant interactions between concentration of D.I Grow and dosage of NPK on dry seed weight per plant and  yield potential. The best yield was obtained  at a combination of D.I Grow 5 mL/L of water and 7.5 g of NPK plant .</text>

The aim of research was to evaluate concentration of Biokomplek Trico-G and Rhizobium inoculation on yield.  The experiment used a randomized complete block design 4x2 with 3 replicates. Factors evaluated were concentration of Biokomplek Trico-G, consisted of 4 levels, that is: 0, 5, 10 and 15 g/L water and Rhizobium inoculation, consisted of 2 levels, that is without inoculation and inoculation with ex-soybean soil.  Results showed that the concentration of Biokomplek Trico-G had a highly significant effect on dry weight seed per crop and dry weight seed per hectare and had a significant effect on seed diameter. The best result was concentration of Biokomplek Trico-G at 10 g/L water.  Inoculation of Rhizobium had a highly significant effect on number of productive branches and a significant effect on number of fine pods per crop but insignificant effect on seed diameter, dry weight of seed per crop and dry weight of seed per hectare. The best result was inoculation with ex-soybean soil. </text>

<text>MOL (Local Microorganism) is one of the key factors to determine the success in manufacturing of organic fertilizer. MOL can fully substitute EM4 (Effective Microorganism) widely being sold in market, as starter to accelerate composting process. The MOL in the experiment was produced from agricultural waste likes in consumable fruits. The experiment was aimed to investigate a better fermentation method in the production of MOL. A Split Plot Design with fermentation methods (with and without applying of air channel) as main plot and length of fermentation (0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 weeks) as sub-plot were applied to produce MOL, with 2 replications. With air channel, the gas produced from the fermentation process could be channeled out of the fermentation container. Analysis of MOL quality included total microorganisms (TCC), temperature, pH, and color. In general, result showed that the MOLs produced from fermentations without air channel were better than the ones produced from with air channel. The highest amount of TCC in MOL was produced from 3 weeks fermentation without air channel.</text>
