<text>Standardization of Working Time at Cocoa Processing Unit, Rimbun Cooperative, Pidie JayaABSTRACT. Rimbun Cooperative is a business unit operating a chocolate factory producing several chocolate products such as cocoa fat, cocoa powder, 3 in 1 instant drinks (sachets), and chocolate bars. This research aims to measure standard times of operators in all working stations of the chocolate factory. These standards comprised the standards in roasting, peeling, pasting, pressing, powdering, powder sieving, powder mixing, dough mixing, refining, and chonching working stations. The data were directly collected using Time Study method with Stop Watch. The samples were randomly selected with five (5) repetitions; and the standard times were measured using Westinghouse Method to quantify performance and allowance factors. The result shows that standard times of operators in each working station are as follows: roasting (36 minutes), peeling (193 minutes), pasting (276 minutes), pressing (78 minutes), powdering (17 minutes), powder sieving (14 minutes), powder mixing (36 minutes), dough mixing (17 minutes), refining (30 minutes), and chonching (30 minutes). In peeling, pasting, powdering, powder sieving working stations, standard times of operators cannot be separated with working times of machines because the operators are required to run the machines (sequence). In general, standard times of operators, after calculation, are larger than direct records because during the working times, operators would not or could not use allowance factors for personal uses, such as for going to bathroom, drinking, and socializing with their colleagues as means to reduce stress or boredom.</text>

<text>ABSTRAK. Rainfall Interception On The Stands of Pine Tree (Casuarina cunninghamia)ABSTRACT. The process of rainfall retention above the canopy of vegetation is known as interception. This study aimed to measure interception, throughfall, and stemflow on pine trees (Casuarina cunninghamia) at different ages 7, 15 and 30 years old, respectively. This research was conducted in the area of Taman Hutan Raya, Seulawah, Aceh Besar. Materials and tools used in this study were an automatic raingauge, measuring cups, measuring tape, clinometer, and Microsoft Excel software. Based on the research, the results showed that the age of the tree had significantly influenced the throughfall and stemflow. The tree’s diameter had significant influence on the large amount of throughfall and stemflow. The tree’s age greatly affected the density of tree canopy. The more dense the tree canopy, then the greater interception the tree had. The pine needle-shaped leaves densely grew that influenced the interception.</text>

<text>ABSTRACT. Hybrid energy systems are pollution free, takes low cost and less gestation period, user and social friendly. Such systems are important sources of energy for shops, schools, and clinics in village communities especially in remote areas. Hybrid systems can provide electricity at a comparatively economic price in many remote areas. This paper presents a method to jointly determine the sizing and operation control of hybrid energy systems. The model, PV wind hydro and biomass hybrid system connects to grid. The system configuration of the hybrid is derived based on a theoretical domestic load at a typical location and local solar radiation, wind and water flow rate data and biomass availability. The hybrid energy system is proposed for 10 of teacher’s houses of Industrial Training Institute, Mersing. It is predicted 10 kW load consumption per house. The hybrid energy system consists of wind, solar, biomass, hydro, and grid power. Approximately energy consumption is 860 kWh/day with a 105 kW peak demand load. The proposed hybrid renewable consists of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels, wind turbine, hydro turbine and biomass. Battery and inverter are included as part of back-up and storage system. It provides the economic sensitivity of hybridization and the economic and environmental benefits of using a blend of technologies. It also presents the trade off that is involved in optimizing a hybrid energy system to harness and utilize the available renewable energy resources efficiently.</text>

The objectives of the study were to investigate the influence of organic and inorganic fertilizers in tsunami-affected lands on the growth of lettuce, and elemental content of N, P, and K in soil and plants. Experiment was carried out in polybags. Result showed that organic and inorganic fertilizer increased nutrient status of N and P soil, increased growth and nutrient content of N and P in lettuce plants. While for nutrient content of K, organic and inorganic fertilizer only affected soil and roots of lettuce. Growth and nutrient content of N, P and K in soil and plants due to organic and inorganic fertilizer application was highly dependent on the dosage given. The best growth of lettuce was obtained at combination of organic fertilizer 30 tons/ha with inorganic NPK fertilizer 1000 kg/ha</text>

The stumps of teak were treated with Phoska fertilizer: 0, 5, 10, 15 g/plant and the fertilizer dosages were applied at 0, 5, 10, and 15 days after planting. The results of the study showed that stem diameter, stem height, and seedling height of the teak were significantly affected by the dosages and application times of Phoska fertilizer at 1, 2, 3, and 4 months after planting. The leaf numbers, leaf length, and leaf width responded significantly to Phoska fertilizer. This study found a significant interaction between the dosages and application times of Phoska fertilizer on seedling height and leaf length at one month old after planting; on stem height, seedling height, and leaf numbers at three month old; on stem diameter, stem height, seedling height, and leaf numbers at four month old after planting. The study revealed that the application of 10 g/plant Phoska applied at a planting day was the best treatment to enhance the growth of teak stump.</text>

This research was conducted at rice field at Aneuk Glee Village, sub district of Indrapuri, district of Aceh Besar. This research used Randomized Block Design non factorial, consisting of 6 treatments. They were unhulled paddy, rice, split rice, corn, split corn and corn powder. The treatment was repeated 4 times. The variables observed were percentage of damage plant, trapped rats, and ratio of male rat to female rat.  The result of this research showed that preference of the rat was significantly affected by kinds of food. Among the treatments, unhulled paddy was the most preferred.  However, at percentage of damage plant, the rats preferred rice to other baits.  The ratio of rats trapped was high at male rats. This proved that male rats in addition to getting the food were looking for their pairs, because female rats stayed more in the pit for feeding activity.     </text>

<text>In an effort to increase the productivity of cocoa in Aceh, the government has carried out a cocoa plantation revitalization program for plants aged 25-30 years. The revitalization effort was constrained by the unavailability of quality seedlings. Alternatively, cocoa seedlings can be made available through vegetative propagations or through tissue culture techniques. Based on those facts, we have studied the inducing of callus and somatic embryos of cacao clones that were adaptive and highly productive in Aceh. The experiment was arranged in a completely randomized design, consisted of two factors. The first factor was the cacao genotype, having red and green fruits skin. The second factor consisted of six combinations of growth regulators 2,4-D and kinetin. The results showed that genotype of explants origin from cocoa red flowers responded very well in the formation of callus and somatic embryo formation. There was a significant interaction between genotype and growth regulator combinations on the explants in the number of somatic embryos formed. The best combination of concentrations growth regulator in response to somatic embryo in SCG (Secondary Callus Growth) medium was 3 mgL-1 2,4 D and 1 mgL-1 kinetin for explants from cocoa red flowers, and 1 mgL-1 2,4 D and 0 mgL-1 kinetin for explants origin from cacao green flowers. </text>

Factors studied were 1) types of organic fertilizer, consisted of 3 levels: manure, compost and green manure and 2) varieties of tomatoes, consisted of two levels: Viccario F1 and San Marino F1. Variables observed were plant height and stem diameter at ages 15, 30 and 45 days after transplanting (DAT), fruit numbers, and fruit weight for 5 times of harvest. The results showed that types of organic fertilizer exerted significant effects on plant height at age of 15 and 30 DAT, plant stem diameter at age 15 and 30 DAT, fruit numbers and fruit weight.  The best growth of tomato was on green manure.  Varieties also exerted significant effects on plant height at ages 15, 30 and 45 DAT, stem diameter at ages 30 and 45 DAT,  fruit numbers and fruit weight, but no significant effect on stem diameter at age 15 DAT. The best growth and fruit numbers wer found at Viccario, while the highest fruit weight was found at variety San Marino. There was a significant interaction between types of organic fertilizer and tomato varieties on plant height at age 45 DAT, but no significant interaction on other variables. The best plant growth was found at the combination of Viccario-manure.</text>

<text>High dependence of rice farming on chemical fertilizers has an adverse impact on environment and the economy. Thus, it is necessary to develop varieties that are tolerant to low nutrient conditions. This experiment was arranged in a randomized block design with a total sample of 88 plants. The results showed that grain weight per panicle was the variable that has the highest diversity, followed by the number of leaf chlorosis per productive tillers and number of panicles. Plant height was a variable that has the lowest diversity. Moreover, the number of panicles showed significant positive skewness, which indicates that the number of panicles have complementary gene interaction. Plant height, number of leaf chlorosis per productive tiller, and number of panicles had positive kurtosis values, which indicate that these variables are controlled by a few genes. In contrast, grain weight per panicle, number of tillers, and the number of leaves had negative kurtosis values, which indicate that these variables are controlled by many genes. F4 bulk population gave 32 clusters, which indicate that this F4 population has a high variation among individuals. </text>
