The conversion of rural land to urban land usually increases erosion, discharge and volume of storm runoff in watershed. It also causes other problem that effect soil and water. An urban or urbanizing watershed is one in which impervious surface cover or will soon cover a considerable area. Impervious surface includes roads, side walk, parking lots and building. Natural flow paths in the watershed may be replaced or supplemented by paved gutters, storm sewers or other elements of artificial drainage. Hydrologic studies to determine runoff and peak discharge should ideally be base on long-term stationary stream flow records for the area, such records are seldom available for small drainage areas. Even were they are available, accurate statistical analysis of them is usually impossible because of the conversion of land to urban uses during period of record. It therefore is necessary to estimate peak discharge with hydrologic models based on measurable watershed characteristics. Only through understanding of these characteristic and experience in using these models can be make sound judgments on how to alter model parameter to reflect changing watershed conditions. Topografi dan geomorfologi memainkan peranan penting dalam pengembangan lahan basah dan merupakan faktor pengembangan model lahan basah. Identifikasi lahan basah dapat digunakan sebagai dasar penentuan pengembangan prioritas berbasis aspek sosioekonomi dan teknis. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menduga luasnya potensi lahan basah pada daerah Bretagne. Untuk mengembangkan penelitian tersebut, digunakan 10 peta DAS di daerah Bretagne, Perancis. Untuk mengidentifikasi lahan basah potensial berdasarkan hidromorf tanah digunakan dengan 4 metode kriteria, yaitu: identifikasi hidromorfi, indeks perhitungan topografi, perhitungan ambang, dan validasi. Hasil indeks topografi adalah 4,7 dan semuanya dapat digunakan di seluruh wilayah Brittany. The Modelling Wetlands Potential Based on Topography Index in Bretagne, France ABSTRACT. Wetlands represent an important natural resource which supports natural biodiversity. Topography and geomorphology play a major role for the development of wetlands and are decisive factors for modeling wetlands extension. The importance of identifying wetlands, can be used as a basis for determining the development priorities that will be based on technical and socioeconomic aspects The objective of this research was to predict the spatial extent of potential wetlands in Brittany, France from a topographic index calibrated on a set of 10 detailed soil maps. In identifying potential wetlands, it based on soil hydromorph which conducted by method 4 criteria. The following four stages of analysis were respectively categorized: identification hidromorphy, calculation topographic index, calculation of threshold, and validation. A threshold method was conducted between soil maps and topographic index to indicate the similarity condition. We use for threshold and validation a new way using 120 combination of soil maps. The result of topographic index was 4.7 and it was applied for all Brittany. The objective of this experiment was to study effect of various planting media compotition and Seprint leaves fertilizer concentration on oil palm seedling growth. The experiment used block randomized design with factorial pattern 3 x 3 and 3 replicants. There were two factors that studied. First factor was planting media compotition (K1 = 1 : 3; K2 = 1 : 2; K3 = 1 : 1). Second factor was seprint leaves fertilizer concentrations (S1 = 2 ml/I water; S2 = 3 ml/I water; S3 = 4 ml/I water). The result showed that the best oil palm seedling growth on planting media compotition 1:3 (cow manure : soil). The best result of oil palm seedling growth was sprint leaves fertilizer concentration 2 ml/I water. There was not interaction between planting media compotition and sprint leaves fertilizer concentration on all oil palm seedling growth variables that were studied. Penelitian ini dilakukan di rumah kasa Fakultas Pertanian Unsyiah, laboratorium Biologi Tanah di Fakultas Pertanian USU dan Laboratorium Kimia Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Unsyiah sejak bulan Juli 2011 hingga November 2011. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok (RAK) faktorial dengan 2 faktor dan 3 ulangan. Faktor yang diteliti adalah beberapa jenis tanaman inang dan beberapa jenis sumber inokulum. Faktor jenis tanaman inang terdiri dari: kudzu, kedelai, dan jagung. Sedangkan faktor sumber inokulum terdiri dari: spora asal rhizosfer kudju, spora asal rhizosfer kedelai, dan spora asal rhizosfer jagung. Peubah yang diamati adalah: derajat infeksi mikoriza dan serapan P tanaman. Hasil penelitian memperlihatkan bahwa terdapat interaksi antara jenis tanaman inang dengan jenis sumber inokulum terhadap infektivitas dan efektivitas mikoriza. Perlakuan yang terbaik pada peubah derajat infeksi mikoriza (infektivitas mikoriza) dan serapan P tanaman (efektivitas mikoriza) adalah kombinasi tanaman inang kudzu, dengan sumber inokulum spora asal rhizosfer kudzu.Infectiveness and Effectiveness of Mycorrhizae in the Some Host Plants and Source of InoculumABSTRACT. This research aims to study the types of host plants and source of inoculum is best in the manufacture of mycorrhizal biofertilizer. The study was conducted at the home screen Unsyiah Faculty of Agriculture, Soil Biology Laboratory at USU College of Agriculture and Soil Chemistry Laboratory at the Faculty of Agriculture Unsyiah since July 2011 to November 2011. This research used randomized completely block design (RCBD) factorial with two factors and three replications. Factors studied are several types of host plants and some types of sources of inoculum. Variety of host factors consist: kudzu, soybean, and corn and factors source of inoculum consisted of: spore origin rhizosfer kudju, rhizosfer spores from soybean, and spores rhizosfer origin of maize. Variables observed in this study is the degree of mycorrhizal infection, plant P uptake. From the research results obtained can be concluded that there is interaction between host plant species with the type of source of inoculum of mycorrhizal infectivity and effectiveness. The best treatment of the parameters of the degree of mycorrhizal infection (infectivity of mycorrhizal) and plant P uptake (mycorrhizal effectiveness) is a combination of host plant kudzu to the source of spore inoculum origin rhizosfer kudzu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pemangsaan C. coeruleus terhadap kutu putih papaya P. marginatus. Masing-masing predator dari setiap tahap perkembangan diberi mangsa pada kondisi dengan pilihan dan tanpa pilihan stadia mangsa, selama 24 jam. Pada uji tanpa pilihan, seluruh instar predator secara nyata (P<0,001) lebih banyak memangsa nimfa instar I. Begitu pula pada uji pilihan bebas, nimfa kutu putih instar I lebih banyak yang dimangsa oleh setiap predator dibandingkan nimfa instar lainnya (P<0,001). Tingkat pemangsaan yang lebih tinggi diperlihatkan oleh larva predator instar III dan IV. Kemampuan mangsa menurun setelah larva predator berubah menjadi imago. Pada uji pilihan bebas, tidak ada imago betina kutu putih papaya yang dimangsa predator. Hasil pengamatan tambahan mengungkapkan bahwa predator C. coeruleus dapat memangsa telur-telur yang dibungkus dalam ovisak. Dengan memilih lebih banyak mangsa yang lebih muda, predator diduga dapat menekan biaya penanganan dan metabolisme akan mangsa. Sehingga eneri yang diperoleh dari pemangsaan menjadi lebih besar. Dalam rangka pengendalian P. marginatus oleh C. coeruleus, maka predator tersebut akan efektif menekan populasi mangsa yang berumur muda. Pada kerapatan 1 ovisak per tanaman, kematian tanaman terjadi dalam waktu 30 hari setelah infestasi; sementara pada kerapatan 4 ovisak kematian tanaman terjadi dalam waktu 10 hari setelah infestasi. Keberadaan 1 ekor predator larva instar IV per tanaman tidak mampu menghentikan kerusakan dan kematian tanaman.Predation Curinus coeruleus Mulsant (Coleoptera: Coccinellidae) of Paracoccus marginatus Williams & Granara de Willink (Hemiptera: Pseudococcidae)ABSTRACT. This study aimed to study predation C. coeruleus on the infestation papaya white P. marginatus. Each predators of each developmental stage were prey to the conditions with and without a choice selection of stadia prey, for 24 hours. In the test without the option, the entire instar predators significantly (P <0.001) more prey instar nymphs I. Similarly, in free choice test, I instar nymphs more white flea many were wiped out by predators than any other instar nymphs (P <0.001). Higher level of predation exhibited by predator instar larvae III and IV. The ability of predators to prey decreased after the larvae turn into imago. In free choice test, there are no female imago white lice are eaten by predators papaya. Additional observations revealed that the predator C.coeruleus may prey on the eggs are encased in ovisak. By choosing younger prey, predators could be expected to recude the cost of handling and metabolism will be prey. So that the energy gained from predation is greater. In order to control P. marginatus by C. coeruleus, the predators will be effective in suppressing the prey population aged youth. In an ovisak density per plant, plant death occurs within 30 days after infestation, while the density of 4 plants ovisak deaths occurred within 10 days after infestation. One predator (instar larval IV) is not able to stop the destruction and death of plants. Efektivitas herbisida dalam mengendalikan gulma sangat ditentukan oleh dosis herbisida.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan dosis yang tepat untuk mengendalikan gulma pada tanaman jagung. Dosis herbisida campuran atrazina dan mesotriona yang digunakan adalah: 0; 0,5; 1,0; 1,50; 2,0 dan 2,50 L bahan dagang ha-1. Rancangan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap.  Peubah yang diamati adalah: persentase pengendalian gulma, populasi gulma, jenis gulma, bobot kering gulma teki, bobot kering gulma rumput, dan bobot kering gulma berdaun lebar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dosis herbisida campuran sebanyak 0,5 L  bahan dagang ha-1 dapat meningkatkan persentase pengendalian gulma serta menurunkan populasi gulma, jenis gulma, bobot kering gulma teki, bobot kering gulma rumput, dan bobot kering gulma berdaun lebar. The Application of some Dosages of  Mixture Atrazine and Mesotrione Herbicides on Corn: I. Weed Characteristics ABSTRACT. Herbicide effectivity for weed control depends on herbicide dosages.  This research conducted to find dosage for weed control on corn. Mixture herbicide of atrazine and mesotrione dosages were: 0; 0.5; 1.0; 1.50; 2.0 and 2.50 L formulation ha-1. Completely Randomized Design was used.  Variables were: weed control percentage, weed population, weed species, dry weight of sedges, dry weight of grasses, and dry weight of broad leaves. The research was conducted to study the interaction water deficiency level and soybean varieties to capacity of the plant growth, product and prolin content. The experiment as factorial experiment in a completely randomized design was applied. The first treatment factors were three level varieties soybean: Kipas putih, Wilis, and Singgalang. The second factor were four level water deficiency: no water deficiency along the growth period, water deficiency along early vegetative growth period, water deficiency along early active of vegetative growth period, water deficiency along flowering, and forming and seed filling period, and water deficiency along seed maturity period. The results showed the water deficiency along each growth period decreased the growth and production. In contrast the water deficiency increases the plant prolin content. The water deficiency along flowering, forming and seed filling period decreased number of pod of all variety. The variety Kipas Putih decreased about 42.49% were compared to the same criteria with no water deficiency in all growth period where water given in normal amount along the through growth period.
