Buah tomat dikerat dengan alat ‘slicing machine’. Percobaan menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 ulangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa irisan tomat dari buah hijau-kuning menunjukkan laju produksi etilen dan tingkat respirasi yang lebih tinggi, kebocoran elektrolit yang lebih rendah, kandungan asam askobik dan likopen yang lebih rendah daripada irisan tomat dari buah berwarna merah. Irisan tomat yang disimpan pada suhu 00C menghasilkan laju produksi etilen dan tingkat respirasi yang lebih rendah, kebocoran elektrolit yang lebih rendah, kandungan asam askorbik yang lebih tinggi, kandungan likopene yang lebih rendah daripada irisan tomat yang disimpan pada suhu 100C. A plot experiment was conducted in the field which objective was to study the effect of organic matter and phosphate fertilizer application on the change of physical properties of entisols and yield of peanut. Experimental treatment were arranged in the block random factorial design. There kinds of organic matter were animal manure, rice straw and peanut straw. The first factor were 0 ton ha-1 of organic matter, 20 ton ha-1 of animal manure, 20 ton ha-1 of rice straw and 20 ton ha-1 of peanut straw, the other factor was SP-36 dosage; there were 0, 60, and 120 kg ha-1. Each treatment was replicated three times. The result showed that organic matter and SP-36 application influenced to physical properties of Entisols i.e. decreased soil bulk density, increased total of soil porosity, available water porosity, soil aggregate stability index, soil aggregation and dry legume weight ha-1. The applications of 20 ton rice straw ha-1 was the optimum dosage on the application of 108.50 kg of SP-36 ha-1, with the maximum dry legume yield of 3.02 ton ha-1. The factorial experiment was carried out in randomized completely block design. The two factors are Metolachlor and Pendimethalin. Our result the mixture metolachlor and pendimethalin showed synergistic and antagonistic effect to population and weeds dried matter by used Colby’s method, however with used regression method, the population of weeds showed effect synergistic, and weeds dried matter not showed effect synergistic. The mixture metolachlor and pendimethalin can increased dried yield with compared to applied single doses. Pertumbuhan yang terbaik dan hasil tertinggi pada penelitian ini diperoleh pada sistim SRI yang disiangi pada umur 20 HST. Sedangkan hasil terendah dijumpai pada penyiangan 60 HST menggunakan sistem konvensional. Effect of Weed Mowing and Planting System on Growth and Yield of Rice (Oryza sativa L.).ABSTRACT. The objectives of the research were to study effects of weed mowing using System Rice Intensification (SRI) and conventional transplanting system on growth and yield of rice. The experiment was arranged in a split plot design using factorial randomized block design which consists of 2 checked factors i.e main plot that is transplanting system consists of: SRI and conventional and sub plot that is effect of weed mowing consists of three levels: 20 DAT mowing, 40 DAT mowing, and 60 DAT mowing. Result showed that the mowing of weed affect the growth and yield of rice which conducted using SRI and conventional transplanting system. The best growth and yield in this experiment was obtained by using SRI transplanting system and 20 DAT. The pedological feature of paddy soils are different from the non paddy cultivated. The aim of the research were: to study the pedofeatures of paddy soils in a toposequence on volcanic materials in the Bogor – Jakarta area; to study the influence of paddy cultivated intensity of pedofeatures. Twelve pedons of different altitude (90 – 650 m above see level) and different paddy cultivated intensity (0/year, 1/year, 2/year) were investigated, each horizons were sampled for laboratory analysis to study the pedofeatures. The result of the research showed that on non paddy cultivated, pedofeature observed at B horizon is indicating rock weathering. On 1x paddy, at tillage layer nodules and hypocoating were found. On 2x paddy, at plow plan layer clay infilling dense complete was found. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) pola faktorial. Ada 2 faktor yang diteliti, factor pertama adalah Jumlah mata tunas (J) dan factor kedua adalah Media tanam (M) yang masing-masing terdiri dari 3 taraf dengan 3 ulangan. Pengamatan yang diamati adalah jumlah tunas, panjang tunas, jumlah daun per tunas, jumlah daun per setek, jumlah akar dan panjang akar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jumlah mata tunas berpengaruh sangat nyata pada pertumbuhan setek tanaman jarak pagar. Jumlah mata tunas terbaik diperoleh pada 12 mata tunas (T2). Komposisi media tanam juga mempengaruhi pertumbuhan setek tanaman jarak pagar dan media tanam terbaik dijumpai pada komposisi media tanam pasir : tanah : pupuk kandang : sekam (M1) dan terdapat interaksi antara keduanya  sedangkan kombinasi terbaik terdapat pada jumlah mata tunas 14 dengan media tanam pasir : tanah : pupuk kandang : sekam  (M3T1)Effect of  Buds and Composition of Planting Media to the Growth of  Jatropha Plants Cutting (Jatropha curcas L.)ABSTRACT. Tingkat kemasakan buah kakao yang tepat untuk menghasilkan benih masak fisiologis dengan tingkat vigor tertinggi adalah yang berwarna hijau kekuningan. The Effect of Fruit Maturity Level and Concentration of Liquid Organic Fertilizer Super ACI to Cacao (Theobroma cacao L.) Seedling GrowthABSTRACT. The purposes of this research are to determine the best cacao fruit maturity level and liquid organic fertilizer Super ACI concentration and also their interaction to achieve the best cacao seedlings. The research conducted at Experimental Station of Agriculture Faculty of Syiah Kuala University, from August to December 2011. Units of treatments arranged according to completely randomized block design, 3 by 4 with 3 replications. Data from observation analyzed with analysis of variance and to them showing significant influenced, continued with honestly significant different test at the level of 5%. The result showed that no significant interaction between treatments to all parameters observed. The concentration of liquid organic fertilizer super ACI also don’t has significant influence to cacao seedlings growth. The appropriate cacao fruit maturity level to produce physiologically matured seed with the highest vigor is those with yellowish green in color. A field research has been conducted in PT. Syngenta R&D Station Cikampek, Karawang to investigate the persistence of clomazone and pendimethalin herbicides in soybean cultivar of Argo Mulyo. The dosage of clomazone and pendimethalin herbicides used were: 0.75; 1.50; and 2.25 kg a.i. ha-1. The persistence of clomazone and pendimethalin herbicide varied from 28 to 96 days and 43 to 75 days, respectively. The persistence of clomazone herbicide was longer than the of pendimethalin.
