This study was aimed at determining nutrient composition and tomato varieties, and the interaction between these two factors on the growth and yield of tamato in substrate system hydroponics. The experimental design used was completely factorial randomized design. There were 2 factors studied, nutrient composition (Nutrisi Hara Spesial/ NHS, Hartuse and Growmore formulas) and tomato’s varieties (Epoch (S-901), Jelita and Donna). Variables observed in this study were plant height, stem diameter, fruit diameter, fruit number and weight of the total fruit crop per plant. The result showed that the nutrient composition significantly affect the plant height at 15 and 30 DAT, stem diameter increment at 15, 30 and 45 DAT, fruit diameter, fruit number and weight of the total fruit crop per plant. The significant effect on plant height 45 days after planting was also found. The best growth and yield of tomato plants were found in nutrient composition of NHS. Tomato’s variety had a very significant effect on plant height at 45 DAT, significantly affected plant height age 30 DAT and the number of fruit per plant. The growth and yield tomato variety was Jelita. There was no significant interaction between nutrient compositions treatment on tomato’s varieties on all the observed variables. Study of population rate and infestation time of larvae of L. indicate on peanut yield was conducted in Experimental Farm of Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam, Banda Aceh. Factorial completely randomized design was applied. The first factor was population rate of L. indicata, consisting of four levels i.e. 0, 1, 3, and 6 larvae per plant. The second factor was infestation time of L. indicata larvae, consisting of four levels i.e. at time of 14, 21, 28, 35 day after planting. Each treatment was repeated three times. Variable observed were infestation intensity of L. indicata, the number of pods, the number of grain per plant, and dried grain weight per plant. The result showed that there was significant interaction between population rate and infestation time on infestation intensity of L. indicata. Population rate of 1 larvae per plant and infestation time of 35 day after planting was effective to lessen infestation intensity up to 4,88 percents. Population rate of 1 larvae per plant caused the highest number of pod, grain, and dried grain weight per plant compared to those of the population rate of 3 and 6 larvae per plant. On the contratry, the infestation time of 14 days after planting caused the lowest number of pod, grain, and dried grain weight per plant compared to that infestation time 35 day after planting. The research was conducted in Buanasakti village, Batanghari sub-district, West Lampung district from December 2007 to March 2008. The treatment was distance between beekeepers state (in the stable: 0, 2, and 4 km) and number of plant population per ha (40,000, 60,000, and 80,000 plants). The conclusion was: (1) in the beekeepers state was produce number of branch was higher 124% and 32% than 4 km and 2 km from beekeepers state, respectively: percentage of empty seeds, dry seed per plot and harvest index in the beekeepers state was increasing 199%, 215,47% and 32.36% than 4 km from beekeepers state, (2) The population of 80,000 plant per ha was increasing dry weight of seeds per plot was higher than 60,000 and 40,000 plant per ha, and (3) in each state was difference number of population caused number of flowering date and head diameter prominent was significantly. The main problem on ultisol was low of soil nutrient containt, that was caused of Ultisol chemical properties less. The research aim to study the effect kinds of organic matter as bokasi from to improved Ultisol chemical properties. The research was used Factorial Randomized Block Design, there were kinds of bokasi and fertilizer dosages. Kinds of bokasi were sawdust bokasi, rice straw bokasi and stem of soil palm bokasi. Applied fertilizer dosages were 10, 15, and 20 ton ha-1. There were 9 treatment combination with 3 replications, so that there were 27 experimental unit and the research consist of 2 experiment series. The first series was analysis of chemical properties and the second series was applied in maize growth observation. The research result show that was kinds of bokasi giving the effect to Ultisol chemical properties. Using of rice straw bokasi were giving the highest effect and then sawdust bokasi and the less one was stem of soil palm bokasi. Difference dosage treatment was giving the significant effect to ultisol chemical properties. Using of 20 ton ha-1 was giving the highest effect of Ultisol chemical properties. Kinds of bokasi was giving the significant effect to plant height, dry weight of up plant. Interaction between kinds of bokasi and dosages treatment were not giving the significant effect to all observation because the observation was short time. The aims of this study were: (1) to evaluate the suitability of classification system for land planted with oil palm at Kebun Baru PT. The characteristics observed in the area of land that formed homogenous classes were based on the uniformity of slope, soil type on the rate of oil palm production. From each homogenous area soil samples were taken for analyze of physical and chemical soil properties. The result showed there was none of the system of land suitability classification can be applied directly in Kebun Baru PT. Perkebunan Nusantara I Langsa. A significant correlation was found among the land characteristics and slope was very evident and determined other land characteristics, including the production of oil palm. The oil palm production in Kebun Baru PT. Perkebunan Nusantara-I Langsa was determined by slope, C-organic, P-available, K-exchangeable, Ca-Exchangeable, base saturation, and salinity. Production in Ciawi BogorABSTRACT. Soba (Fagopyrum esculentum Moench) is potential alternative food source because of its chemical contents which are not so different from other main food sources. In its agronomical development, intensive and sustain research are needed to study solar radiation uses efficiencies, growth and yield of soba under different population an time planting. This research conducted from April to August 2000 at BPLP Ciawi – Bogor experiment station 415 meter top of sea level, 106 51 BT and 06 38 LS. Unit of research arranged by factorial completely randomized block design. The population factor consist of 3 level : 200 plants m-2 (P1), 160 plants m-2 (P2) and 133 plants m-2 (P3), and time of planting also consist of 3 levels : on April (T1), May (T2) and June (T3). Solar radiation uses efficiency at early growth to weeks after planting was higher at high population compared to low population, but after 5 weeks of planting or when maximum efficiencies, its higher on P2 compared P3 and P1. This showed that when grain filling and maturing, it is more intensive on low population then high population, however the anova for two factors at maximum efficiencies did not showed significant differences. Growth and yield of soba is better on high population compare to low population. This because on high population the microclimate condition and water availability is more adequate then on low population. There was no significant different on 1000 grain weight caused by two factors. For total yield P1 172,1 gm-2 was highest and significantly different then P2 143,6 gm-2 and P3 123,9 g m-2. The objective of this research is to evaluate the potency of nontarget impacts of introducing Neochetina eichhorniae on local plants aquatic communities. The results of the research indicated that the weevil showed a high preference and host specific on waterhyacinth, and so far the house shifting was not occur. Insitu observation showed that this biological agent was not found in any others aquatic and non aquatic plants living around water areas. One of the efforts to eliminate the mechanical barrier is by scarification treatment (scrubbing) the seed that becomes a thin shell that easily enter the water and air. Besides the presence of growth regulators in seed also be an important factor for accelerating the growth of seedlings. The experimental design used in this research in Completely randomized design (CRD) 3x3 factorial with three replications. There are two factors studied, namely scarification percentage and the concentration of young coconut water. Increased nutmeg seed viability and seedling vigor due scarification treatment , except for potential growth. Scarification 100% gives the acceleration of growth was significantly different from the seed without scarification but not significantly different from the scarification 50%. Concentration of 100% coconut water could also accelerate the growth of normal seeds without significantly as compared with young coconut water immersion, but not significantly different from the concentration or 50% young coconut water. There were no significant interaction between treatments were tested on the viability and vigor of seed germinating of nutmeg.
