<text>Application of Different Dosage of Glyphosate and Paraquat Herbicides and Their Effect on the Growth of Milky Weed (Calotropis gigantean R. Br)ABSTRACT. The study on application the different dosages of glyphosate and paraquat herbicides and their effect on the growth milky weed (Calotropis gigantean) has been conducted at Experimental station, Faculty of Agriculture, Syiah Kuala University, Darussalam, Banda Aceh. The treatment were arranged in a completely randomized bloc design (CRD) manner with two factors. The first factor was the dosages of herbicides which were 0 kg a.i/ha, 0,4 kg a.i/ha, 0,8 kg a.i/ha, and 1,2 kg a.i/ha. The second one was the different herbicides which were glyphosate and paraquat. The result showed that the dosages of the 0,8 kg a.i/ha significantly increased the percentage of milky weed control, suppressed the height of milky weed 21 days of application (DAA), reduced the diameter of milky weed stem and decreased the dry weight of milky weed. The type of the herbicides and different dosages used interactively affected the percentage of milky weed control and the diameter of milky weed stem on 21 days of application (DAA). The paraquat herbicide applied with dosage of 1,2 kg a.i/ha significantly increased the percentage of milky weed control and suppressed the diameter of milky weed stem.</text>

<text>ABSTRAK. The Effect of Some Fertilizers and Mulches on the Growth and Productivity of Chili (Capsicum annum)ABSTRACT. The aim of this research was to know the effect of some fertilizers and mulches to the growth and production as well as the interaction of both factors on the red chili. The experiment was done in Lampuuk village since February 2007 to June 2007. The first factor was 3 kinds of fertilizer (dung 20 t ha-1, NPK Phonska 600 kg ha-1 and the mix of urea 200 kg ha-1, SP36 150 kg ha-1, KCl 150 kg ha-1) and the second factor was 3 kinds of mulch ( Black Silver Plastic, rice straw, rice husks). The result shows that growth of chili was better on dung fertilizer. Rice husks mulch has significantly fruit number per plant (200.85) and the highest fruit weight (380.33 g). The growth and yield of chili best on rice husks mulch.</text>

‘Revolution’ ini dilaksanakan di Laboratorium Pascapanen Hortikultura milik ‘School of Agronomy and Horticulture’ the University of Queensland, Australia pada tahun 2003.

<text>Growth and Cucumber Yield of Three Different Varieties on Selected Hydroponic MediumABSTRACT. The subjective of this study were to investigate several varieties and medium on the growth and the yield of cucumber. The research was conducted at the screen house Agriculture Faculty, Syiah Kuala University Darussalam – Banda Aceh from August to December 2008. Randomized completely block design with two factors was used on this experiment using three replications. The first factor was medium for hydroponic (i.e. sand, rice chaff charcoal, and sawdust), and the second factor was cucumber variety (i.e. Dinasty, Baby, and Venus). Each of unit experiment used 2 plants, and meaning that we used 54 plants for this experiment. The result showed that he medium significantly influenced the cucumber weight per plant, influenced the stem diameter on 45 days after planting (DAP), but not for other parameters (i.e. the plant height on 15, 30 and 45 DAP ; the stem diameters on 15 and 30 DAP ; the fruit length ; the fruit diameter and the amount of fruit per plant). The variety significantly influenced the fruit length and the cucumber weight per plant, however the variety not significantly influenced other parameters (i.e. the plant height on 15, 30, and 45 DAP; the stem diameter on 15, 30, and 45 DAP; the amount of fruit per plant; and the fruit diameter). We found that the interaction between the medium and the variety occurred on the cucumber weight per plant. </text>

<text>Corn Growth Analysis with Peat Application and Posfat Fertilization on Mineral Acid Podzolik Soil (Ultisol)ABSTRACT. The experiment to improve mineral acid soil productivity in Aceh that is potential to plantation. This experiment was conducted during the month of February until Mei 2006. It studied the effect of peat application, phosphate fertilization and the effect of the interaction. They were consist of sixteen combination of treatment with fourty eight plots. The experimental design was in randomized completely block design, there were two factors treatment. e.i. four level of peat namely; no pead, 10 ton, 20 ton, and 30 ton ha-1. The result shows that in general the application of peat and phosphate fertilization with different level were able to improve significantly the corn growth e.i.: crop growth rate, relative growth rate, net assimilation rate, and leaf area biomassa ratio, but they interaction were not significantly on 4 – 8 weeks periode. The interaction were significantly on 8 weeks to harvest periode however the two single factor show nonsignificantly. The interaction between pead application of 2 ton ha-1 and 100 ton ha-1 posfat fertilization gave a better result.</text>

This study aims to determine the response of maize (Zea mays, Sacharata SHOUT) against the use of several types of organic mulch and organic fertilizer super nasa and whether there is an interaction between both factors. This research has been conducted in the village of Kuala  Batee, Terbue District of Southwest Aceh district which lasted from 17 july - 30 october 2008, and with Research Randomized factorial arranged with the combined treatment of organic mulch (M) that M1 = straw, M2 = bagase, M3= rice husk, while the organic fertilizer treatments super nasa (P) is P1 = 10 g / l of water, P2 = 20 g / l of water and P3 = 30 g / l of water with three replications. Results showed that oral administration of organic mulch significantly affect corn production, the best production of mulch was found in rice husk (M3) significant than other types of organic mulch. Fertilizer did not affect the process of growth and yield of maize. There is interaction between the type of Mulching with organic fertilizer super nasa. The best combination was obtained in the combined treatment  M2P1  or M3P3.</text>

<text>The Parasitism Level of Various Egg Parasitoids Associated with Nezara viridula L. on Soybean PlantationABSTRACT. It is well known that the presence of various egg parasitoids on the green stink bug, Nezara viridula, can decrease the population of this insect pest on soybean plantation. A research has been conducted to observe the parasitism level of various egg parasitoids associated with N. viridula on different stages of soybean plantation. The plant stages used were 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, and 10-12 weeks after planting (WAP), with 6 experimental plot for each stage, and 5 plants for each experimental unit. Three pairs of N. viridula adult then were relased onto each plant which was covered by the gauze cage earlier. When egg were laid, the cage was taken out leaving 2 eggs rafts per plant. These N. viridula eggs then were exposed to parasitoid for three days, before taking them all to the laboratory. The observations were done on the parasitized eggs. The result showed that different stages of soybean plants significantly affected the parasitism level of various egg parasitoids, with 26 to 46% parasitism level. Up to 71.8% of parasitize egg successfully became adult parasitoids. There were four different Hymenoptera egg parasitoids found associated with N. viridula, namely Telenomus sp. (Scelionidae), Gryon sp. (Scelionidae), Mycroteris sp. (Encyrtidae), and Anastatus sp. (Eupelmidae). Due to its abunden (91.5%) on soybean plantation, and its fair sex ratio, Telenomus sp.is believed to have a great potential for future development as a biological control agent on the green stink bug, N. viridula.</text>

The objective of this study was to examine the growth responses of green house-grown soy bean colonization by AMF. The experiment was conducted at Cikabayan experimental of Bogor Agricultural University from August 2003 to February 2004. Six genotypes soy bean that result of root bioassay treated by Al by saturated (Al 25 %, Al 50 %, and Al 75 %), field capacity (80 % and 40 % FC) and Inoculated by mycorrhizae (without AMF and by AMF). Root and shoot dry matter were higher in mycorrhizal than in non mycorrhizal plants.</text>

Critical moisture and water activity of coconut (Cocos nucifera L.), were analyzed for the first and second critical points of transition among the primary, secondary and the tertiery  bound water fraction in the coconut. It was found out that the first critical points of moisture content and water activity were Mp of 5.22% db and ap of 0.30 respectively. The second ctitical points were water content Ms 12.4% db and water activity as 67% respectively. Coconut sample in the primary bound water fraction (represented by moisture content at 5.22% db), was stable in colour and appearance, but slightly rancid due to molecular mobility of the liquid oil content. The sample in the secondary bound water fraction (represented 12.4% db), has a colour change to darker brown, and in the tertiary bound water fraction (represented 90.5% db), mold growth appeared on the 12 days storage. Coconut indicated and Intermediate Moisture Food (IMF), because limited shelf life for few days at room temperature.</text>

In order to select the most appropriate herbicide or devise the optimum weed control system, one must be able or properly identify the weed present within a field. Research was aimed to find out influence of mixture two herbicide, with under herbicide dosage to weed and yield of soybean. Field experiment was conducted on Inceptisol from February 2006 until May 2006 at station research Agriculture Faculty Padjajaran University, 700 m above sea level. The factorial experiment was carried out in randomized complete block design with two replications. The first factors-metolachlor (doses of herbicide a.i. 0,0; 0,75; 1,50; and 2,25 kg ha-1). Application showed that herbicide metolachlor and pendimethalin had single or mixture on the studied gave higher percentage of weeds covered, and weed dry matter were lower comparison. The mixture metolachlor and pendimethalin can increased dry of yield compared to herbicide single application.</text>
