The objective of this experiment was to obtain suitable medium for rapid multiplication of Pogotemon cablin Benth using tissue culture method. Result of this study show that the first and the second factor were not significant to all parameters. Interaction between the organic matter with the biofertilizer only effected significantly to the fungi population. The aim of this research was to study effect on Nasa organic fertilizer concentration and atonik growth regulator on growth and yield ground peanut. The experimental design was completely block randomized design with two factor and three replications. The two factor investigated were Nasa liquid organic fertilizer concentration (1 ml/l, 2 ml/l, 3 ml/l of water) and Atonik growth regulator concentration (1 ml/l, 2 ml/l, 3 ml/l of water). Result showed that Nasa organic liquid fertilizer concentration highly significant different affected on plant height 45 and 60 days after planting and significant different on dry seed weight per plot netto and 100 g dry seed. Atonik growth regulator concentration showed highly significant different effect on plant height 60 DAP and significant effect on plant height 45 DAP. The best Atonik concentration was 3 ml/l. There was a correlation between Nasa organic fertilizer concentration and Atonik growth regulator on plant height 45 DAP. Evaluasi kesesuaian lahan pada setiap SPL menggunakan metode klasifikasi kesesuaian lahan yang dikembangkan oleh FAO. Analisis linier berganda dilakukan pada karakteristik lahan yang berpengaruh nyata terhadap komponen produksi dan kadar lemak. Hasil evaluasi lahan Klaster Padang Tiji dan Keumala memiliki kelas kesesuaian lahan aktual sesuai marginal (S3) sedangkan Tangse cukup sesuai (S2) dan sesuai marginal (S3). Kelas kesesuaian lahan potensial Klaster Padang Tiji sesuai marginal (S3), sedangkan Klaster Keumala dan Tangse cukup sesuai (S2) dan sesuai marginal (S3). Hubungan antara karakteristik lahan terhadap produksi diperoleh hubungan yang sangat erat (R2=0,95), sedangkan karakteristik lahan terhadap kadar lemak diperoleh hubungan yang erat (R2=0,64). This study was aimed at the analysis of land suitability for cocoa in order to understand relationships between characteristics of the land and production and fat content of cocoa and factors that influence it. Method used was a survey method to obtain land characteristics, management and production levels of cocoa. Land Unit Map (LUM) of each cluster was formed by overlapping maps of soil type, slope, and land use. Evaluation of land suitability on each LUM was done by suitability classification method developed by FAO. Relationships between characteristics of land and production and fat levels were analyzed using correlation analysis. Multiple linear analysis were carried out for land characteristics that significantly affect production components and fat content. The results showed that clusters of Keumala and Padang Tiji had actual land suitability classes of marginal suitable (S3), while Tangse had those of adequately suitable (S2) and marginal suitable (S3). Potential land suitability classes of Padang Tiji cluster was marginal suitable (S3), while clusters of Keumala and Tangse were adequately suitable (S2) and marginal suitable (S3). Results showed that there was a very close relationship (R2=0.95) between characteristics of land and production, while a close relationship (R2=0.64) between characteristics of the land and fat content. Determinants of production were altitude, slope, sand fraction, clay fraction, pH H2O, pH KCl, organic C, total N, available P, Na, Al saturation, cation exchange capacity, base saturation and salinity, while determinants of fat content were altitude, organic C, total N, available P, Ca, and Mg. Percobaan dilaksanakan di lokasi pertain di desa Lamunti, Kabupaten Kapuas, Kalimantan Tengah pada MK 2009 yang menggunakan rancangan acak kelompok dengan 3 ulangan. Peubah yang diamati adalah tinggi tanaman, jumlah cabang, jumlah buku subur, komponen hasil, dan hasil. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan pupuk organik dengan perlakuan pemupukan NPK, terjadi peningkatan baik pada pertumbuhan vegetatif dan pertumbuhan generative dilihat dari jumlah buku subur, jumlah polong/tanaman, jumlah biji/tanaman, berat biji/tanaman, dan berat seratus biji serta hasil. The utilization of land without awareness to soil bearing capacity can cause the declination of productivity and land degradation. The application of organic and inorganic fertilizers can improve soil and crop productivity. The object of research was to evaluate the influence of N, P, and K fertilizer and Beta and Tithoganic organic matter on growth and yield of soybean on peaty acid sulphate land. The experiment was conducted on farmer land at Lamunti village, Kapuas, Central Kalimantan in dry season 2009. This experiment was arranged in RCBD design with 3 replications. Observed variables were plant height, number of branches, number of fertile nodules, yield component and yield. The results showed that the application of organic fertilizer with NPK fertilizer treatment increased vegetative and generative growth that could be shown from the number of fertile nodules, number of pods/plant, seed number/plant, seed weight/plant and 100 seed weight and the result. Treatment of an half NPK + Beta organic matter increased the number of seeds/plant as 58.10% and the weight of seed/crops as 46.32% whereas treatment of an half NPK + ½ Tithoganic organic matter increased the number of seeds/plant and weight of seed/crops as 59.29% and 40.33% respectively. Previous studies have been done to break seed dormancy in rice (Oryza sativa L.). However, since the behavior of seed dormancy are different for different varieties, there is a need to find effective methods for breaking dormancy in four most important cultivars of low land rice. Low land rice seeds were harvested at 95 days after planting (cv. Kalimutu and cv. Gajah Mungkur), 105 dap (cv. Way Rarem) or 115 dap (cv. Jatiluhur), and dried to 13% moisture content. The seeds were stored in an envelope paper at ambient temperature and relative humidity (28-310C, RH 81-89%) for up to 9 weeks with 1 week interval. Persistency of seed dormancy in each cultivar was determined based on the time needed to reach a minimum of 85% germination capacity. Various methods of breaking dormancy were applied: untreated control, soaking in water for 24 h, soaking in water for 48 h, soaking in 1% KN03 for 24 h, soaking in 1% KN03 for 48 h, soaking in 120 ppm GA3 for 24 h, soaking in 120 ppm GA3 for 48 h, heating 500C for 72 h, heating 500C for 48 h + heating in water for 24 h, heating 500C for 48 h + heating in water for 48 h, heating 500C for 48 h + heating in 1% KN03 for 24 h, heating 500C for 48 h + heating in 1% KN03 for 24 h, soaking in water for 24 h + in damp cloth for 24 h, mantriconditioning using sawdust and mantriconditioning using rice hull ash. Soon after the treatment the seeds were germinated, and seed viability and vigor were observed. Results of experiment showed the viability and vigor of low land rice seeds were increased after storage. Persistence of seed dormancy was different in each cultivar i.e. 3 weeks in Kalimutu (germination capacity 90%), 4 weeks in Way Rarem (87%), 6 weeks in Gajah Mungkur (92%), and 9 weeks in Jatiluhur (85%). Soaking the seeds in 1% KN03 for 48 h was the most effective method for breaking dormancy of Kalimutu, Gajah Mungkur and Way Rarem at harvest (0 weeks). Heating the seeds in a 500C oven for 48 h followed by soaking in water 24 h was the only effective method to break dormancy in cv. Jatiluhur at 2 weeks after harvest, while the time of harvest none of the method was effective. (Coleoptera: Crhysomelidae) in LaboratoryABSTRACT. Pleisispa reichi is a mein pest of coconut in Indonesia. This beetle attacked the young leaves. The objective of this research id to know the biological aspect of this beetle on coconut leaves. This studies were conducted in Laboratory of plant pest and disease, Faculty of Agriculture, North Sumatera level. The result showed that female produced 43.40±9.86 eggs with hatching 80.77±6.95%. Larvae had 3 instars with duration 22.80±0.79 days. The age of pupae 5.30±0.71 days. While the age of female and male, 70.90±4.55 and 73.90±4.55 days, respectively. Copulation occurred when imagoes age 13-14 days. The length and wide size of eggs were 5.90±0.56 and 1.95±0.20 mm. The length larvae of instar 1, 2, and 3 were 4.05±0.37, 6.00±0.53, and 9.05±0.55 mm. Perlakuan Arang aktif  terdiri dari 2 taraf yaitu perlakuan tanpa arang aktif dan arang aktif 40 kg ha-1, serta perlakuan zeolit terdiri dari 2 taraf yaitu perlakuan tanpa zeolit dan zeolit 200 kg ha-1. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, perlakuan urea memberikan pengaruh sangat nyata terhadap tinggi tanaman umur 30 HST dan 45 HST,  gabah per plot,  dan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah anakan umur 30 HST. Perlakuan arang aktif memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap jumlah anakan padi umur 30 HST dan berat gabah per plot sedangkan zeolit berpengaruh terhadap jumlah anakan padi umur 30 HST. Terjadi Interaksi yang nyata antara ; urea dan arang aktif terhadap jumlah anakan umur 15 HST ; urea, arang aktif dan zeolit terhadap jumlah anakan umur 30 HST ; arang aktif dan zeolit terhadap jumlah anakan produktif.Effect of Urea, Active Charcoal, and Zeolite on Growth and Yield of Rice(Oryza sativa L.)ABSTRACT. The objectives of the research were to study effects of urea, active charcoal and zeolite on growth and yield of rice. The experiment was arranged in a factorial randomized block design with three replications. Factor of urea consisted of three levels, i.e. treatment without urea, urea 150 kg ha-1 and urea 200 kg ha-1. Factor of active charcoal consisted of two levels i.e. treatment without active charcoal and active charcoal 40 kg ha-1. Factor of zeolite consisted of two levels i.e. without zeolite and zeolite 200 kg ha-1. Results showed that urea exerted  highly significant effects on plant height at age 30 days after transplanting (DAT) and 45 DAT, grain per plot, and exerted a significant effect on tiller numbers at 30 DAT. Active charcoal exerted  significant effects on tiller numbers at 30 DAT and grain weight per plot, while zeolite exerted significant effect on tiller numbers at age 30 DAT. Significant interaction occurred between urea and active charcoal on tiller numbers at age 15 DAT; urea, activated carbon, and zeolite on tiller number at age 30 DAT; active charcoal and zeolite on productive tiller numbers. Herbicide might be use for desicant to increase soybean seed quality at rainy season, however not all herbicide can be used as dessicant. Seed with a better quality will growth faster than weed will, they will form leafy coronet that shaded the weed and be able to compete against to the weed. The experiment was conducted during rainy season at PT Syngeta-Cikampek, West Java, started from November 2003 to March 2004. This experiment that was the second experiment was arranged in two-factor randomized block design with two replications. The first factor was the 21 seeds generated from dessicacy test in experiment 1; the second factor was the invasion status of weed that consist of weed invated and weed free. The observed responses includes the weed’s characteristics that consist of dominant value ratio and the soybean’s response that consist of the height of the plant, the length of the root, the weight of 100 seed. The data was analyzed by Percentage Change Test, Least Significant Increase (LSI) Test, Stres Tolerant Index (STI) Test and continued by Directed STI, The result shows that the seed generated from paraquat herbicide dessicacy at dose of 0.4 kg a.a ha-1 applicated at R2 are more superior than other seed treated by any oyher treatment.
